I am not sure I like this blog site...sure it is linked to GMAIL but what is the use in that really? I can have ads on my blog but they are terrible...I thought I would be able to choose the type of ads shown. This is not the case...boo.
In other news...I am really trying to get Beatrice on a normal napping schedule. This requires quite a bit of diligence and planning. Like, just now I really wanted to go to the grocery store but that would mess up her nap schedule...they say that well rested babies sleep better at night so I am working on it. I also am trying to get her to stay down for a whole hour at a time. AH! This is so hard! She cries a lot...she doesn't like sleeping but when she wakes up she is in such a better mood! She has been sleeping pretty well through the night these days though...which is a plus! 6:45-7pm to 5:00am is a success to me! Then I feed her and we lay in bed until 6:30-7am. What a treat!
It is a beautiful day out today!
I have started to watch my husbands cousin two days a week which is interesting. I thought I would handle it with great ease but I will be honest it is hard to have energy for children who are not your own...I don't think I was built for it. I really believed that education at least for smaller children would really suit me but I am not sure that is the case. Perhaps it is because I am also caring for my child while working with her but I don't feel as patient as I thought I would. Don't get me wrong Cayce (the four year old) is sweet with my little one and she doesn't mis-behave by any means. It is just getting used to another routine I guess!
I miss being in a choir...I am not very gutsy when it comes to solo performing but I love to perform in a good choir...it just moves you. Take this performance for instance. i thank You God for most this amazing day by Eric Witicre and lyrics by e.e. cummings. It moved me just to hear it...but I have sung that song and the music vibrates in your body as you sing with other musicians and it is a feeling I can't even describe...like a big hug where your heart wants to leap out of your chest!
Here are the lyrics
i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes
(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday; this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)
how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any--lifted from the no
of all nothing--human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?
(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

You know how sometimes a week can fly by? well I don't know if this has ever happened to anyone reading but last week FLEW by but the past two days have just dragged on like a month. I actually thought I hadn't posted in two weeks..but no just one week and one day. I spent a lot of time in my storage unit on Sunday, and WOW it is packed. I just forgot about some of the things we had. pretty bad huh? What I did find was our Back to Basics book. This book is awesome. It tells you how to do live and sustain life like they did back in the day. Self sufficient. That is really what I wanted to do with this blog but I couldn't find the book! NOW I have found it so hopefully our adventures into the unknown can start. I mean I can't cultivate my 5 acres of land (because I don't have it) but I can try and start to learn out to do other things like make butter and weave cloth, grow a little garden and fun things like that. I know some of you will be like...ummmm "with all the modern conveniences why would you do that?" Well I want to try this to see if there is something to it. I mean do we lose something we as modern Americans have never experienced by living in a world of convenience and speed? What about the slow simple life...really that is what I have been wanting to blog about since the beginning so I am really going to try and stay on a path! I am so bad that way, there are so many distractions!

yummy mexican fajitas
Here is a great recipe that is easy to make, good to take for lunches at work, and good for left overs!
1 large onion
1 green bell pepper
3 cloves of garlic
protein of choice ( pinto beans, black beans, chicken, skirt steak etc)
1&1/2 teaspoons Cumin
1/4 cup lemon juice, orange juice or lime juice (if it is fresh even better throw the fruit in after you squeeze it!)
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon dried cilantro or 1/4 cup fresh chopped
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
butter or oil
saute onion about 3 minutes while you cut up the garlic, then add garlic to saute pan. Cut up green pepper saute with onion and garlic then add the rest of the ingredients. I usually let this simmer for 20 mins but if you have meat you need to cook accordingly. Just make sure your chicken is done! OH p.s. if you want to marinate you chicken before hand use some soy sauce and lemon juice!
you can serve with either fried tortilla or just regular flour tortilla, guacamole, sour cream and shredded cheese! yumm!
